Inspection before filling of gas cylinders Section III

10、 Whether the color, words, character color, color code and other links on the outer surface of the gas cylinder conform to the provisions of GB 7144-88 Color Marking for Gas Cylinders.

 

If the color mark is found not in conformity with the regulations, the color mark falls off, the user sprays the color mark by himself or covers the gas cylinder of another color with one color, it must be treated with caution, marked and listed as the key analysis of the gas in the cylinder. If the gas in the analysis bottle is not the gas to be filled, handle it according to the requirements of the first item above; If the gas in the bottle meets the gas to be filled, it shall be handled according to Item 3 above.

Check the color mark of the gas cylinder carefully. A slight carelessness may cause an accident. For example, in 197x, a chemical plant in Liaoning Province found 10 oxygen cylinders because of the urgent need for hydrogen. After the oxygen station of the plant was painted with the color mark specified for hydrogen cylinders, they were transported to another chemical plant for hydrogen filling. During the inspection, the hydrogen station found that the bottle wall under the shockproof ring cover was sky blue, but it did not arouse the vigilance of the inspector. Thinking that "the bottle sent by the master factory cannot be wrong", it was transferred to the filling room. At that time, the filling table was just empty of two bottles, so two bottles were drawn from the 10 bottles just shipped to the filling table. After the cylinder valve is opened, all the cylinder valves on the filling table will spray flame. The on-site filling personnel immediately took emergency measures to close the bottle valve, cut off the flame, and discharged the gas in the pipe and bottle to avoid the expansion of the accident. When tracing the cause of the accident afterwards, it was found that there was residual oxygen in the cylinders sent, and there was 80kgf/cm in one of the cylinders ² Oxygen.

In the past 10 years, the phenomenon of mixed packaging of bottled gas has been common, especially the explosion accidents caused by the mixed packaging of combustible gas and oxygen. Some of them have caused the collapse of houses that were destroyed by aircraft and killed people, causing heavy losses. On August 29, 1988, in the oxygen plant of Xijiao Village, Chongyang Town, Chongqing County, Sichuan Province, a cylinder containing hydrogen was mixed into the filling platform. When the filling pressure rose to about 13 MPa, two of the cylinders broke into pieces and the oxygen charging device was destroyed. Two filling workers died on the spot, and one oxygen producer was injured. The filling room could be destroyed by a warehouse explosion.

For the gas cylinders partially coated with new paint or partially painted with different colors, the new paint or different paint film must be scraped off to check the condition of the cylinder body, so as to prevent the user from covering the defects on the cylinder body with paint. In previous inspections, it was found that users used steel plates to weld round openings in the bottle body, used soldering tin to fill the hollow of the bottle body, used copper plugs or lead plugs to rivet holes in the bottle body, used oil putty or glass putty to fill scratches in the bottle body, and used a file or portable grinding wheel to repair the welding scar on the bottle body. All kinds of hands and tricks users do on the cylinder body threaten the safe filling and use of the cylinder. Therefore, pay special attention to the bottle defects that may be covered under the paint film during inspection. Gas cylinders found to be defective shall be handled according to the requirements of the first item above, and then handled according to the requirements of the third item above.

11、 Whether the cylinder safety accessories are complete and meet the technical requirements.

The safety accessories of gas cylinders include cylinder caps (detachable and fixed), shields, fusible alloy plugs, shockproof rubber rings, etc. Except for fusible alloy plugs, all of them are non negligible inspection items.

1. Pay attention to the following items when checking the bottle cap and cover:

(1) If the cylinder is lack of cap or cover, it shall be supplemented;

(2) The bottle cap or cover shall be replaced or adjusted when it is damaged or loose;

(3) If there is no air hole on the detachable bottle cap, it shall be replaced;

(4) If the upper cap opening of the fixed bottle cap is not aligned with the hexagonal handle of the bottle valve, find out the cause and replace the bottle cap, hexagonal handle or bottle valve. The cylinder valve shall be replaced by the cylinder regular inspection station;

(5) When the side cap opening of the fixed bottle cap is not aligned with the side nozzle of the bottle valve, it should be adjusted to prevent the user from assembling the pressure reducer or nut joint;

(6) The fixed bottle cap assembly shall be fastened, and those that cannot be fastened shall be replaced;

(7) When the fixing bolts of the shield are loose or fall off, they should be tightened or matched.

2. Pay attention to the following items when checking fusible alloy plugs:

(1) Whether the fusible plug falls off;

(2) Whether the fusible alloy plug is assembled firmly;

(3) Whether the fusible alloy is loose;

(4) Whether fusible alloy is lost;

(5) Whether the fusible plug has other unsealing defects.

Gas cylinders with defects found in fusible alloy plugs shall be treated according to the third item above.

3. Pay attention to the following items when checking the shockproof rubber ring:

(1) The shockproof rubber ring shall be complete if it is lost;

(2) The shockproof rubber ring shall be replaced if its size does not meet the requirements;

(3) The shockproof rubber ring is cracked and delaminated and should be replaced
